How much is the Career Hunter test?
You can create an account and take our Career Interests test for free. However, a one-time fee will be charged to unlock the Career Hunter testing system in its entirety. This will give you full access to all our testing areas and a personalised Career Profile report which features detailed insight into your career interests, personality traits, motivations and abilities as well as accurate career matches.
Can I take a career test if I already have a job?
Of course. Anyone can take a career test, regardless of where they are in their career. If you’re a school leaver, a career changer or a veteran professional, the Career Hunter test will help you choose a career that is in tune with your professional goals and talents.
Can I retake a test?
You are able to retake the Career Interests, Personality and Motivational tests whenever you want. The remaining aptitude tests (Abstract Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning) can only be taken once every 30 days.
How do I complete the Career Interests, Personality and Motivation tests?
Our Career Interests, Personality and Motivation tests are completed using a ranking system. In each test, you will be asked to rank a series of statements on a scale of 1 to 5 where 1 represents the highest category and 5 the lowest category.
To do this, click on one of the statements to activate the test and begin completing it. Simply drag and drop each statement to the appropriate position – for example, the statement which is more appropriate to you should be placed in the top position and the statement which is least appropriate to you should be placed in the last position.
To complete the tests on a mobile or tablet device, please use the arrows next to each statement to arrange them in the order to which they are appropriate to you.

The Career Hunter tests were written by a team of psychologists, professionals and experts, and are based on the latest scientifically proven methods and algorithms.
The information contained in our career reports has been compiled from various resources including the Government of the United Kingdom, Prospects and the National Careers Service.

No. Your results are strictly confidential and will be treated as such. It is entirely up to you how, if and to who you share them.
How long will it take to receive my results?
Your results will be automatically displayed on your Career Profile as soon as you’ve completed the relevant test. Upon completing all six of the tests, you’ll get access to a personalised Career Report which features a more detailed analysis of your results.
How can I prepare for the tests?
We provide examples of the types of questions that come up in our tests on our Sample Questions page which has been designed to help you understand what to expect in the actual tests. Our tests also provide example questions, and these can be used to help you practise as many times as you like before you proceed with the test.
Meanwhile, our sister site CareerAddict provides an excellent resource for career testing that you might find useful when preparing for the Career Hunter tests.
I didn’t finish the tests – does it matter?
Yes. Submitting a test that is incomplete will return inaccurate results. You are, therefore, advised to answer all of the tests’ questions to ensure your results are as accurate as possible.
I’m colour blind. Will this affect my results?
Our Abstract Reasoning test uses sequences of shapes of different sizes and colours. While every effort was made to make these colours distinguishable to all users of the Career Hunter platform, some people might find completing the test difficult and this could affect your results.
Where can I view my Career Profile report?
You can view your Career Profile report in your Profile page after you’ve completed all six testing areas.
