  • Can I retake a test?

Yes. You can retake the self-assessment tests (Career Interests, Personality and Motivation) whenever you like. The aptitude tests (Abstract, Numerical and Verbal Reasoning), however, can only be retaken once every 10 days.

  • How do I complete the tests?

Career Hunter is comprised of 3 self-assessment tests (Career Interests, Work Personality and Career Motivators) and 3 aptitude tests (Abstract Reasoning, Numerical Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning).

The self-assessment tests are completed using a ranking system. Each test is comprised of a series of statements which you need to rank in order of priority. Simply drag and drop each statement to the appropriate position (the top position represents the highest priority and the bottom position represents the lowest priority). To complete these tests on a mobile or tablet device, please use the navigator on the right-hand side to scroll the page.

The aptitude tests are comprised of multi-choice questions which you need to correctly answer based on the accompanying information presented in text, graphs and diagrams.

  • Who built the Career Hunter tests?

The Career Hunter tests were built by a team of psychologists, professionals and experts, and are based on the latest scientifically proven methods and algorithms.

The information contained in our career reports has been compiled from various resources, including GOV.UK, Prospects, the National Careers Service, the Bureau of Labor Statistics and O*NET.

  • How many industries will my results be compared against?

The Career Interests test compares your answers against 19 different industries in order to recommend the top 3 industries in which you should consider pursuing a career. Some of the industries that we look at to determine your compatibility include Construction, Hospitality, and Teaching and Education.

It’s important to remember that your results in the Career Interests may vary significantly from your final result upon completing all 6 tests that comprise the Career Hunter system. This is because what you want to do can be different from what suits your work personality type, motivations and capabilities.

  • Can I change the test language?

The Career Hunter platform is currently only available in English. However, this may change in the future, so do keep a lookout for additional languages!

  • Will my results be shared with anyone?

No. Your results are strictly confidential and will be treated as such. It is entirely up to you if, how and with whom you share them. You also have the option to share your test results on various social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn or Google+ using the share buttons provided.

Even if you’re still not fully prepared, our tests feature practice questions with answers to help you get started.

  • I submitted an incomplete test – does it matter?
